THIS week’s Picture of the Week is of the summit of Beamsley Beacon, looking towards Burnsall. It was sent in by Linda Lee, of Ilkley.
She said: “It was lovely up on Beamsley Beacon with the heather still in bloom - and I was the only person there! Surely there are others who can get out when the sun is shining - so come on, make the most of it!”
Beamsley Beacon is also known as Howber Hill. There is a trig point at the summit due to its vantage point. JMW Turner painted Grouse Shooting on Beamsley Beacon in 1816.
