BrassNeck Theatre are in final rehearsals for their much-anticipated production of Ghost the Musical at Yeadon Town Hall next week and tickets are flying out the door.

The Friday night performance is now officially sold out.

BrassNeck Theatre is an incredibly well supported theatre company based in Yeadon and continue to exceed expectations with previous productions including Sunset Boulevard, Calendar Girls and Sunshine on Leith, but with a show like Ghost the Musical it has the technical expectations too and the BrassNeck production team are determined to achieve this too.

Ghost the Musical is based on the 1990 award winning film, ‘Ghost’ starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.

This now renowned love story is adapted and written for the stage by award-winning American Screenwriter – Bruce Rubin who won the Academy Award for Original Screenplay for the film Ghost.

Ghost the Musical is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Long time couple, Sam and Molly, are happily in love and living together in Brooklyn. Walking back to their apartment one night, they are mugged at gunpoint, leaving Sam murdered on a dark street. Sam is trapped between this world and the next as a ghost and unable to leave Molly - who he quickly learns is in grave danger. With the help of a storefront psychic named Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of protecting her.

Music and Lyrics are written by Eurythmics front man Dave Stewart and renowned songwriter and lyricist – Glen Ballard, but features the hit song featured in both the film and then the musical The Righteous Brothers ‘Unchained Melody’.

The cast are led by Ben Tomlinson as ‘Sam Wheat’ and Emily Kyle as ‘Molly’ – both regular members of the BrassNeck theatre company with Director Royston Bayfield and Musical Director Catherine Sweet.

Ghost the Musical opens at Yeadon Town Hall next week on Tuesday, May 14 and plays until Saturday, May 18. Evening performances during the week are at 7.30pm with two performances on Saturday at 2pm and 6.30pm.
